When looking for a new career, one of the most sought-after criteria is the opportunity to learn, grow, and advance with a company that truly cares about its staff. Of course, it doesn’t end there. Perhaps you have always found construction and building interesting, have a knack for craftsmanship, or are mechanically inclined. Maybe you would find it satisfying to contribute to the health and comfort of those who spend time indoors, or are simply looking for a new career with a company that values its employees and encourages professional development.
If any of these resonate with you, a career at Custom Aire may be the perfect fit. In addition to being part of an industry-leading HVAC team, our employees earn competitive wages, outstanding benefits, and an employee-stock ownership plan. We also put a high priority on employee growth, by offering career advancement and development opportunities at every level. Continuing Education
The HVAC industry is constantly evolving. Every year there are new technologies, innovative processes, and improvements in procedures. To be the best at what we do, it is essential that we continue to learn our craft whenever such advancements develop.
At Custom Aire, we understand that investing in our workforce means providing the tools and resources required to grow with our industry, including opportunities for personal and professional satisfaction for each member of our team. And because there is always something new to learn at every level in our organization, the opportunities to grow are endless.
Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program
A common path into trade careers is tech school, but that is just one option. Tech or trade schools are a great choice for many students, while others may find that an “earn while you learn” program fits their needs more closely. Apprenticeship is a practical option, providing both hands-on instruction and an income.
Custom Aire’s four-year Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program doesn’t require any previous experience with sheet metal, so it’s a great chance to learn from the ground up. It teaches essential and advanced skills in sheet metal fabrication, taught by experienced sheet metal professionals. Our program uses the curriculum from the National Center for Construction Education and Research, nationally recognized and approved by the U.S. Department of Labor. Apprentices receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program and advance to Journeyman, all while earning a paycheck.
The program runs during the standard September-May academic year; however, we welcome applications throughout the year. If you have an interest in the world of HVAC, like to work with your hands, enjoy learning something new every day, and take satisfaction in seeing the results of your progress, you are an ideal candidate for our Sheet Metal Apprenticeship Program.
Safety Training
Custom Aire prioritizes the safety of our employees. As with any construction-related field, there can be safety hazards, but with the right training and protocols in place, we hold ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to safety on the jobsite or in the shop.
Our safety training begins on the first day of work. The goal is to foster habits that promote our culture of safety in the workplace, so that everyone can go home to their families at the end of the day.
Custom Aire employees come to work each day knowing that we all share in the responsibility to make our workplace the safest it can be. Those who have been around the business for many years can attest to that. Staying safe leads to career longevity. In fact, this is one of our core values. At every level, from the most senior person to the newest team member, we are all accountable for the safety of everyone in our organization.
If you’re intrigued by the thought of building a new skillset, earning while you learn, and working with a company that emphasizes workplace safety and a commitment to professional growth, we would love to visit with you.
