How does it work? Apprenticeship programs are set up to offer a combination of on-the-job training and classroom instruction from trade professionals in the industry. At Custom Aire, we have a four-year, in-house Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program. During these four years, apprentices work with a team of highly skilled professionals to practice hands-on training and classroom learning which utilizes the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum. Meanwhile, they’re earning a paycheck for their work and training, with structured increases in wages for gaining higher-level skills.
Once the course is completed, apprentices are awarded their Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship and can begin a career progression towards a Journeyman position.
